I am a flash developer with over ten years of work experience. I love building complex flash websites with multiple languages, rich media (sound, video), dynamic data (XML, mySQL/PHP), ...
Although flash is my speciality, I don't mind getting my hands dirty with PHP, mySQL, javascript, CSS, XML, databases...
I have worked for clients big (Reuters, Cisco, Citibank, AEG) and small. I currently live and work as a freelance contracter in Antwerp, Belgium. I am interested in cool flash/flex/website projects.

Flux-Fomu

Website for the photo museum in Antwerp. Special attention went into the "liquid layout" of the website. For the animations, I used the excellent Prototype/Scriptaculous javascript framework. I used flash for the fullscreen section of the site. The website was build by me, the CMS was developed by 8bahn while the design comes from Steven Vandenplas (8bahn).

Caffelatte Catering

Dynamic flash website for a Belgian catering company with a C.M.S. and a semi liquid layout. The content of the website adjust to the height of the browser window with automatic scrollbars for the text area. This way people with smaller screens resolutions still get an enjoyable experience. For the multi colons of the "references" section, I used the "TextFlowLite" class by Grant Skinner.

Reaal mini video website

Small flash website for a dutch insurance company that I developed for 8bahn. The dynamic data comes from an XML file. Facebook, Twitter, and social media integration.

Charlie De Keersmaecker

HTML website for a Belgian photographer commissioned and designed by Pixel. This is my first website build with wordpress. Although a little hesitant at first to use another CMS system, the whole process was rather painless. Touchscreen application

A small flash application that was build with the Papervision 3d framework. Images and videos come from an external XML file. People can turn the 3d wheel by dragging their fingers on the touchscreen. An online demo can be found at the link below.

Portal Group

Flash website with custom build CMS, URL rewriting, 3d interaction,... The design was done by Alex Daems from Albino while the 3D movies are the work of Tim Lebaq. The website is not online yet but you can preview a demo.

Imps & Elfs

Imps & Elfs is a clothing brand for small kids. 8bahn commissioned me to build a flash application that allows people to upload a picture after filling in a form. There are several gallery views, form validation and the site is available in seven languages.

Small HTML website that I build for Bubble. Nothing really fancy.

Antwerpen Studentenstad

Complex community website made with Drupal and a lot of hacks. Design by Martijn Vogelaers for Pixel.

CLC agenda/reservatie module

CLC is a building that's being rented out for laser practices. They needed an online tool for their doctors to be able to make reservations. I made their reservation tool in flash. There is a separate C.M.S. section to administer the users.

Jens Jansen

Jens is a friend of mine and an interior architect. As a barter I made him a website while he made me a DJ-booth. The design of the website was done by Albino.

AV-image

Marc Lagrange

Website that I developed for the Belgian photographer Marc Lagrange. This was another cooperation with 8bahn. Steven Vandenplas did the design and I programmed the website and Marc‘s Content Management System.

Feitenvinder

Mini website for the dutch insurance company "Reaal" to showcase the results of their researches in a playful manner. Although the website is in flash, the browser scrollbars still appear when necessary. Special attention went into the animations for the drop downs and the counters. I did all the programming and animations (except the logo). The latter and all the design were done by Steven Vandenplas for 8bahn.

POM Antwerpen

Dynamic HTML website I build for Albino, complete with a CMS, URL rewriting and some fancy ajax. "Invest in Antwerp" will house the Chinese and English version of the website: http://demo.albinoclients.be

Mini website for Daikin that I developed for Bubble with two games, a video and some dynamic pictures.

Nespresso Break

Flash mini website for Nespresso in Dutch and French. I was hired by These Days to develop the C.M.S. for the sales people and the flash website itself. The design and animations are by These Days.

Pienterolympiade

The first website that I programmed for Albino. The goal of this website was to find the smartest math teacher in Flanders with a different question each month. Math teachers were able to register, login and answer the new questions. The answers were analyzed and could be downloaded in excel format from the CMS.

De pesioen quiz

Litterally: "the pension quiz". This was used as a tool to educate employers about pensions in the Netherlands. I developed this website for Bubble with a quiz (of course), integrated flash videos, several forms connected to a database, a lowband version, a flash 5 version, music, sound effects...

Velux

Velux Belgium wanted a website to promote some of their products. I developed this "mini-site" in French and Dutch. Both the URL‘s: biendormir.be and lekkerslapen.be direct to the same flash website. The content is adjusted through the linking of external XML files. Some other features: * Four different forms with validation * The results of these forms are emailed and/or added to a database. * All the databases can be downloaded in excell format via a protected URL. * Flash page scroller * Integration of a back button/history * Quiz with 10 questions

Marie Hanlet

Marie Hanlet is a personal shopper. The website serves either french or english content with the same codebase/design. I also developed her content management system so that she can easily update her website.

Flash website for this furniture distributor. I was responsible for all the programming and the animations (design by Bubble)

Seasonal promotional website for which I did some additional programming: * the preloader * video integration (three videos that play simultaneously) * support for french and dutch language * some effects

Win a frietkot!

This website, full with hidden interactive animations, was build to promote the sauces of Devos Lemmens. When people submit a picture, they can win a real "frietkot". This can only happen in Belgium! (Note: A frietkot is a place where they sell frittes or "french" fries in Belgium. ) Design and animations by Duall. I did some additional programming, nl.: - support for the different languages (through XML files) - the form which utilizes flash 8´s new filereference object - some dynamic masking and randomization - the results can be downloaded in excel format via a protected URL

AEG - Gastouch

First website for AEG to promote their new gastouch oven for which I did the flash/XML programming. The site works with all the european languages: french, spanish, german, finish, greek... That means that all the text elements in the flash have to be dynamic and have variable widths and heights. The texts are stored in a seperate language specific XML file. A second XML file is loaded into flash and gives the paths to the images, the external scripts and statistics. Other features include: * making a drawing and emailing that to a friend * emailing a recipe to a friend * flash printing templates

Ibens

HTML website for which I did the development. (design by 8bahn). There are 4 main templates that are used but with URL rewriting, the user (and search engine) gets a easy to understand URL. Special effort went into the development of their Content Management System. In order to make this tool as user friendly as possible, the same layout was used as on the website. With this tool they can add, edit or remove pictures, documents and even complete web pages. A user can even change the order of the pages by simply dragging them.

Lait Russe is a restaurant in Antwerp, Belgium. Design is by 8bahn, I was responsible for the development of their website and Content Management System

Zeal

Dynamic flash website for which I did all the programming and the creation of their custom Content Management System. Design by Steven Vandenplas.

Agribex Express

Agribex wanted a website so that journalist can have easy access to their documents and pictures. All the content is maintained with their custom build C.M.S. I built the site, the design was done by 8bahn.

The Feedroom

The Feedroom is an "online video solution provider" where I worked full time for almost four years while I lived in New York. I worked there for clients such as NBC, Miramax, Microsoft, NCAA sports, Cadillac, Real Networks, Reuters, Cisco, Ford GM, Pentagon, Herbalife, Playboy, ... Utilized technologies include: JSP, (D)HTML, javascript, CSS, Netscape and IE event handling models, flash, cross-browser plug-in scripting with dynamic playlists that span multiple embedded objects (windows media, real player, flash). This was years before youtube and flash Video! In addition, I was the flash/actionscript contact with their clients and responsible for building their dynamic flash movies. In my last year there, I build them two flash video applications.

Potatomania

Eat more patatoes! A website to promote just that with recipes, health information, etc. There is a French and Dutch version of the site. The big majority of the content is driven by their custom build C.M.S., the other texts come from the XML files. A cron job is responsible for updating the website with a new recipe each thursday and then mailing it in either french or dutch to more then 12.000 people that are subscribed. I was responsible for all the programming. Peter Dekens from Bubble did the design. The site received a site of the day award from theFWA.com at 22 dec 06

Golf, a tribute

Flash website to promote a photography book. I was responsible for the developement of the site and their CMS. The design was done by bubble and the animations in the pictures (leaves, birds) by Steven Vandenplas.

Citibank Stocker Ticker

Monetaire contacted me to develop a stock ticker in Flash for the homepage of Citibank in Italy. The stock ticker had to be developed with a tight dealine and various features such as: complex error handling, alternative text messages and a variable width. All the variables come from several external data files.

BBQ garantie

The food specialist "Devos Lemmens" wanted to have a playfull way to promote their range of barbeque sauces. If the weather doesn‘t allow for BBQ, then people can get their money back. The website was programmed in flash together with Duall/Weblogik. I was mainly responsible for the support of french and dutch through XML sheets and actionscript, as well as importing the weather data and displaying the corresponding information in the flash file.

P-values

Development of this XML data driven flash website. Most of the development time went into dynamically splitting the text into three seperate text areas (see website) and the interaction of the different items.

The Cookout Game

I was contacted by Reznick Media to develop a flash version of the classic arcade game "Burger Time". This game was used to promote the movie "Cookout", starring Queen Latifah.

Corsair

This was my first job in New York. Initially, I was on board as an HTML/JavaScript/Flash consultant. Later, I worked full time there. Mostly helping out with websites for clients like Nabisco (intranet website), Sushi Samba and Prefer.com, as well as with their own website. At times, I was dipping my toes in network administration and linux red hat.

Wouter Steel

Square Room is a record label I used to own while living in New York. I opted for a clear, yet distinctive looking site. The label is now defunct but you can still view the intro that I made.
